There are many videos on YouTube that deal with D-Day and even Juno Beach and the Canadians, but despite the ample film and photographic record, very little identifies the participants and none of it brings into context the scope of the Canadian effort that day.
This video attempts to do that by identifying every participating service and unit - ships, landing craft, MTBs, regiments, supporting service corps and air force squadrons, with their badges, d-day photos and regimental marches.
Also included as a final tribute are the names of the 364 Canadians who died on D-Day in the heroic effort to create a foothold in Normandy and begin the final defeat of the Nazis.
