Crossed the Bar
The most moving and fitting tribute to our former friends and colleagues that I have found is this video created by Greg Benton in honour of his great-uncle.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and un-timely passing of our friend Garry on June 4th.  Cadet, sailor, officer, bandmaster - who never stopped playing the horn, boathouse czar, co-founder and first President of TSCAA. There was no funeral, but a large number of friends gathered for the scattering of his ashes in Ashbridge’s Bay on 14 June, 2011 at 12 noon. The farewell was followed by a reception at the Sailing Club and then Up Spirits at the Naval Club.

Alumnus John Gourlie Crossed the Bar on Friday, 03 June, 2011. John was retired from the Toronto Police Force after 35 years of service. He served 5 years in the Royal Canadian Navy. He was a member of RCL Branch #270, Coldwater, ON, member of the Coldwater Lions Club, member of the Canadian Naval Air Group "CNAG", member of the Toronto Sea Cadet Alumni Association and a member of the Naval Club of Toronto.
