The TSCAA and Naval Club Ceremonial Colour Party participated in in the 10th Anniversary Commemoration of 9-11 as part of the Home Opener for the North York Rangers hockey team on Sunday, September 11, 2011. Before the game, the fans were entertained by the Band of HMCS YORK, and their wide repertoire was well and warmly received by the fans.
The ceremonial puck drop was handled by two Navy vets: Lcmdr Jack MacQuarrie from the Second World War and Cdr Richard Ratcliffe from the Korean Conflict. (Cdr Ratcliffe was escorted to centre ice by his grandson, a member of the Rangers’ junior team.)
