Our 7th AGM was held at the Naval Club on Sunday, 06 November, 2010 with over 20 members, spouses and guests in attendance.
We had a shock the week before the meeting when our scheduled Guest Speaker, Charles Mann had to postpone due to unexpected surgery. A former speaker Lynn-Phillip Hodgson (Camp X) saved the day by putting us in touch with Corinne Miller. She is the daughter of Reg Miller, the young merchant seaman (featured in Lynn’s book) who was stranded in South America and recruited by Intrepid’s organization to spy on German movements. Corinne gave a very informative and insightful presentation about her father’s experience and displayed a number of his documents, medals and badges. In appreciation, Corinne was presented with a Naval Centennial Silver Dollar Coin and a TSCAA Lapel Pin.
The event was capped off with a delicious Roast Beef Dinner prepared by the Naval Club’s in-house Catering staff followed by the Ceremonial Cake Cutting by Saul Glass with the able assistance of Corinne.
Yours aye - President Mike
